Meet the FVPS/SMCS Admin Team!

Bonnie Hunley, Principal

An Alberta native, Bonnie has lived in Fort Vermilion for over three decades. Moving to the region in the dead of winter 1989 to take a teaching position, she has since worked at many FVSD schools – elementary teacher at SMES, Lead Teacher for FVSD, Assistant Principal at HCCS, Principal at BHCS, Assistant Principal at FVPS, Principal at SHES, Principal at SMES and is currently Principal of FVPS/SMCS.

She enjoys the quiet, small town lifestyle Fort Vermilion offers it’s residents and the ease of access to the great outdoors and outdoor activities.

Originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Maija and her husband moved to the north in search of better opportunities and work/life balance. She began her career with FVSD as Principal of RLNS then moved to her current position at FVPS/SMCS as an Assistant Principal.

Maija enjoys the small town/rural lifestyle that Fort Vermilion and area offer. Living in a small community on the banks of the Peace River is beautiful and the view never gets old!
